It is mainly used as part of a GitHub workflow, which checks out the repository containing these Markdown files and runs panulat on them, generating the HTML files. For more information on how this site works, see the colophon.
It also features a built in web server to preview what the site will look like locally, before pushing to GitHub. This web server can watch the source files and automatically rebuild individual files as they change.
